The founder members of the UKMC simply wanted to arrange a club for like-minded divers to go diving in the mines and caves of the UK. Essentially, that is still the ethos of the club.

UKMC members regularly organise trips to the mines and caves across the UK and beyond – many members also enjoy sea diving so friendships are formed and trips or boats arranged privately.

Some members enjoy carrying out survey work to create and update site maps, others produce stunning photographs and videos of these unique locations, whilst a lot of members simply enjoy diving.

If you are struggling to find a qualified diver to explore with, or are looking for a local guide to take you around a particular mine or cave, then the solution can often be found within the UKMC – it is not uncommon for members to ask for information, only to have someone offer to dive with them and show them around.

We fully understand what it’s like to do a mine or cave course and not get access to sites, or have someone to point you in the right direction.
